Heather Simms, Deputy Director of Peer Advocacy and Community Initiatives,
Heather Simms started her journey with CSPNJ in 2001 as a recipient of supportive housing services. She has embraced the opportunity to grow within the agency. Since 2002, Heather has been employed at CSPNJ using her life experience to be a voice for all. Heather has had various positions in her years at CSPNJ starting as a direct support worker in Supported Housing to numerous specialty positions including Housing, Employment and Wellness and Recovery. She has also worked to mentor new support workers and oversee a peer led supported housing program with in a Community Wellness Center. Heather has been recognized by NJAMHA in 2007 for “Consumer Provider of the Year” and also in 2017 for “Outstanding Leadership”. As Deputy Director of Peer Advocacy and Community Initiatives she is using both her lived and professional experience to lead advocacy efforts and oversee the Community and Hospital Wellness centers, in addition to overseeing wellness respite services in Middlesex County.
Tracy Dos Santos Rocha, MS, LAC, NCC,
Middlesex Respite Program Manager
Tracy Dos Santos Rocha, MS, NCC, obtained her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Monmouth University. During her undergraduate career, she conducted a psychological research study and presented it at Monmouth’s Semi-Annual Research Conference. Tracy has a diverse background in clinical experience which includes interning at the Arc of Monmouth, as well as several school districts in Monmouth County, where she facilitated individual and group therapy. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and currently working toward licensure to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Alexa Saks, MSW, LCSW, Senior Coach
Alexa Saks, MSW, LCSW, obtained her Master’s Degree in Social work from Rutgers University. She has also obtained her License of Clinical Social Work. Alexa has received the Clinical License of Social Work. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. Alexa also has the NJ State Certification as a School Social Worker. Alexa has an array of clinical experience which includes facilitating family, group, and individual therapy. Alexa is the Senior Coach at the Middlesex Respite House at Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey (CSPNJ). At CSPNJ, Alexa supervises staff and oversees the services. Alexa also interacts with the guests in order to provide genuine quality of care services.
Rebecca Slutter, BA, CPRP, Wellness Associate
Rebecca Slutter, BA, CPRP has received her CPRP (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner) and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Johnson State College in 2011. Rebecca completed an internship with Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, assisting refugee individuals in obtaining resources necessary for acclimation into the country. Rebecca has worked for Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey at the Respite House since its opening in April, 2014. Rebecca's specialities in the Respite House include music therapy, yoga, and meditation.
Ron Klein, BA, Wellness Associate
Ron Klein, BA, has begun coursework toward a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Rutgers University in Scotch Plains, NJ. He works for Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey as a Wellness Associate for the Middlesex County Wellness Respite Services and as the Peer Advocate Coordinator at the Acute Psychiatric Services of University Behavioral Health Care/Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ. Ron has served as President of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of New Jersey and is also well versed in Wellness Recovery Action Planning. In past years he has presented at the COMHCO (Coalition of Mental Health Consumer Organizations) Conference, and attended the Consumer Provider Association Workshop and remains a dedicated advocate and ally for those dealing with mental health issues.
Blossom Toussaint, BS, Wellness Associate
Blossom Toussaint, BS, obtained her BS in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Psychology from Kean University and Rutgers University. She currently works as a Wellness Associate for CSPNJ’s Wellness Respite Services of Middlesex County, NJ, which empowers individuals to transform crisis into an opportunity for personal growth. From 2013 to 2015, Blossom was the Program Coordinator of CSPNJ’s Enhanced Services in central New Jersey. In that role, Blossom served and provided support to individuals who were transitioning from long term psychiatric hospitalization to reintegration in the community. Blossom also volunteers at the Veterans Affairs hospital in East Orange and has volunteered with UMDNJ in the past.
Shirelle Chislum, BA, Wellness Associate
Shirelle Chislum, BA, obtained her BA in Psychology at Kean University. She is currently completing her MS in Applied Behavior Analysis at Purdue Global University. Shirelle has worked in mental health providing crisis management, counseling, and behavioral management services for adults and children for the past 9 years. Shirelle joined the CSPNJ team in 2018 and has been honored to serve clients by providing them with services that involve dignity and respect.
Alex Soto, BA, BS, Wellness Associate
Alex Soto, BA, BS, has a BA in Psychology, and a BS in Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Alex graduated from Kean University and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). Alex did his internship with Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey, throughout the state of New Jersey as a support worker, employment specialist, housing skills facilitator, and wellness associate. Alex is currently a bi-lingual wellness associate at the Middlesex County Respite House.
